Terms and conditions – August 2020
Training, home visits, workshops and video calls are services offered by Puppy Training IOMThese terms and conditions relate to all training and home visits regardless of location, excluding workshops which are covered under a different document.
The term ‘client’ is used in relation to the person who booked the appointment.
The term ‘handler’ is used in relation to the person accompanying the dog in the session.
The term ‘owner’ is used in relation to the legal owner of the dog.
For the purposes of the document we will use the term ‘handler’, which may or may not be the same person as the client and owner.
We use reward based methods tailored to your dog. Please advise us if you are against the use of treats, toys, praise or other motivators.
The handler is responsible for providing food rewards, however we may use our own food rewards also. Please advise any food allergies your dog has.
All dogs are the responsibility of the handler. Puppy Training IOM is not liable for any loss or damage suffered by the handler.
The handler/client/owner indemnifies Puppy training IOM against any injury, damage or cost caused by the dog towards any property, person or other animal, this is to include, but is not limited to veterinary, medical, legal fees or loss of earnings.
We do not promote the use of slip leads or tightening training leads, tightening harnesses, e-collars or other equipment which we feel do not fit with our ethos of training without fear or intimidation. Please use a standard flat collar or standard harness. We reserve the right to cancel any session without refund for non-compliance of this where we feel it is necessary.
Children are welcome to join a session when supervised by an appropriate adult.
Payment for a session is payable either in advance by PayPal or in cash on the day of your session.
Payment is still due for any non-attendance/cancellation however where more than 24 hours’ notice is given the appointment can be rescheduled. Any cancellations should be phoned to 07624 344435 or emailed to email@example.com with as much notice given as possible.
Where we cancel a session due to weather or ill health, where possible we endeavour to give at least 24 hours’ notice and the session will be rolled on. Where necessary a refund will be provided.
Where Puppy Training IOM is travelling to the handler’s property, a detailed address, directions and property description where necessary need to be provided. Loss of session time due to misdirection will not be refunded.
Puppy Training IOM teachings are not an exact science. Effectiveness is dependent on a number of factors including the handler’s participation, follow through and practice in real life. Puppy Training IOM cannot accept responsibility for lack of results.
Puppy Training may use photos and videos of the dog on social media and other promotional material without consent. Puppy Training IOM agrees to not show photos of the handler’s face without permission.
These terms and conditions are provided on our website and are made available to the handler at the time of booking. By continuing with the booking process, whether payment has or has not been paid, is the agreement that the handler understands and agrees to these terms and conditions and signing is not required.
